It seems I am behind in getting to all this social networking stuff.
Most of my previous online presence(s) have been lost - be it the demise of MSN Communities, YahooTM Geocities and even YahooTM 360o.or forums like Twisted RCT and (who would have ever thought) CastleCops.
My first Web Page(s), hosted free through an app called Trellix (bundled with my camera) wound up in a subdomain called Pakistan - not necessarily friendly to a site with a World Trade Center memorial in it, and by the time I got to use the app wisely, it was bought and sold and replaced by another.
I've been pressured to get a MySpace and finally realized I did not think it was all it was cracked up to be. One of my daughters pages kept triggering virus alerts; another daughters machine became infected and some security sites were sending up red flags.
I stayed on top of security issues through CastleCops. Though I did not partake in any specialized cleaning of machines with them, I've yet to find a replacement for them. I suppose it's time .
So, I've spent time the past two days uploading photos to Twitpic and Facebook.
Click below to see previously unpublished photos from Ground Zero in an album called Never Forget.

So, why now?
There are many reasons - too many to really get into at this time, but part of the reason is no matter how far we come in time since that Tuesday eight years ago, it is always there and manifests itself in new strange ways. Events of the past day or so have me wondering what we, the public will be asked to do next. Will they now ban underwear when flying?
CNN wants to discuss problems with airport security. Meanwhile the guy once held responsible is still not in custody, while John Q, Public feels the net of the Patriot Act getting tighter all around him.
I was struck that at the 5th Anniversary, a schoolteacher (of all people) admitted they had forgotten about 9-11. I have to wonder how that is possible. Could it be because his neighborhood wasn't turned into a war zone like mine was? Was it because he didn't hear the explosion of jet into building, or smell the acrid fires burning or see the smoke rising in the air like I did?
It seems no matter how far we've come, there is still a ways to go, so Never Forget. Now I can share my memories with you and try to help you to remember. It must not happen again, but by penalizing normally, law-abiding U.S. citizens is NOT the way to prevent that.
Thank you, but I'd like to keep my Hanes on.
